Konstantina Demenika

social worker

I was born in 1976 in Athens, Greece. I graduated from the Department of Social Work of Patras University of Applied Sciences (2003) and have a master on Inclusive Intercultural Education from Aristoteleion University of Thessaloniki. I  have worked as a social worker since 2003, with refugees and asylum seekers in Greek Council for Refugees (G.C.R.) (Athens, 2003–2008) and with unemployed Roma in the Municipality of Agia Varvara (Athens, 2006–2008).

Since 2008 I live in Syros and work in Special Education public schools. Additionally I have worked (2009–2011) in the “Center for Open Care of the Elderly” of Posidonia Municipality. I have participated in several non-formal political groups aiming at the support of refugees and people in need generally, but also at the change of social relations in the community.
