Multi-Purpose Cargo Bike

This project aims to design and construct a “multi-purpose cargo bike for community use” that will promote active citizen engagement. We intend to create a local, informal learning environment that fosters a culture of sharing (tools, skills, materials, and spaces) within our communities, grounded in the philosophy of “Do It Yourself – Let’s Make It Together.”

Our work will focus on the transformation of an existing bicycle through a complete DIY design and construction process, which will render it multifunctional and adaptable for use in various community activities. The specific functions of the bike will be collectively determined by our team, following a mapping and analysis of our communities’ needs. Examples of potential uses include: street cinema, mobile information and local product distribution points, mobile workstations, libraries, kitchens, and more.

This is the third phase of the collaboration between Kavilia and students from the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering of the University of the Aegean, based in Ermoupolis.

Project Title

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
